Local Fibreglass Roofing Application:
Fibreglass Roofing / GRP Coatings
Aleron Construction is the leading Fibre-glass Roofing Specialist company in Milton Keynes and surrounding area. We have two teams of highly trained and experienced installers and offer professional fibreglass coating services to residential and commercial customers in the area.
We have extensive experience with fibreglass technology and our installers have even been filmed applying fibreglass roof coverings to a self-build house which was filmed for Grand Designs and shown on Channel 4 back in 2013.
What is Fibreglass Roofing?
Fibreglass roofing, also known as GRP Roofing, will last for as long as 50 years with no measurable deterioration. In a domestic environment, fibreglass systems are commonly used to provide leak-free and durable coverings to flat roofs on extensions, garages and outbuildings, roofs over dormer and bay windows, slip-resistant balcony coverings, tanking of basements, swimming pools and fish ponds. As fibreglass can be supplied in any colour, we have been frequently asked to make fibreglass roofing installations to simulate lead roofing finishes in order to prevent the growing problem of lead theft.
In commercial environments, fibreglass and GRP coating systems are commonly used for water tanking for structures below ground level, tanking of hazardous environments against chemical leaks and prevention of spill contamination, industrial roofing coverings, bespoke guttering, valleys/trays and more.
Fibreglass coverings can be applied to any horizontal or vertical surface and require minimal surface preparation. Fibreglass coatings can be applied to structures of any shape which gives it the ultimate advantage over rigid type systems (such as zinc) and off-site manufactured solutions.
Compared with traditional bituminous felt flat roof solutions, fibreglass roofing has a number of distinctive advantages:
A fibreglass roof is completely sun-light UV resistant and is absolutely maintenance free, which is an obvious advantage over many traditional flat roofing systems which require maintenance or regular cleaning to remain effective. Most traditional flat roofs are constructed using bituminous felt which requires an application of heat from naked flames (gas torches) during its installation. In contrast, fibreglass is a cold applied system which means the laminate is formed without the safety and fire risks associated with using naked flames or burners.
